The Role

Collaborating with data science, atmospheric science and remote sensing scientists at Orbio to:

  1. Help develop and implement a comprehensive and automated testing and validation strategy for our methane emissions data
  2. Contribute to and peer-review parts of our existing pipeline for Methane Intelligence, including large-scale remote sensing data ingestion and processing
  3. Write clean, easy-to-understand code, and contribute to the team’s data engineering knowledge.
  4. Read scientific papers to understand the current state-of-the-art for relevant tasks, and attempt to replicate those papers where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Statistical science (Physics, Math or similar) background
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis (correlation analysis, uncertainty estimations) preferably in the environmental data space
  • Proficient with Python
  • Experience working with geospatial data
  • Experience with working in agile software teams (GitLab, Sprints, etc.)
